Brazil beef exporters want to resume short-run sales to US

Abiec says it hopes meat exports are resumed in the short run, as soon as the measures to be taken by Brazil are presented to the US government
Following the suspension of fresh beef imports from Brazil by the US announced yesterday (Jun 22), the Brazilian Association for Meat-Importing Industry, ABIEC, issued a statement Friday (23) declaring the necessary measures to fix production processes are being taken.
In the note, the association says it hopes meat exports are resumed in the short run, as soon as the measures to be taken by Brazil are presented to the US government.
ABIEC also declared that food security is among its main concerns, and that Brazil's beef meets high sanitary requirements throughout its production chain.
