Early this month, Embraer unveiled a t venture with Boeing, a merger to include all the commercial aviation business and services of the Brazilian company. The US giant will pay $3.8 billion to have 80 percent of control of the new operation, estimated at $4.7 billion. The Brazilian jet maker will have 20 percent of the partnership.

The transaction is expected to be concluded in 12 to 18 months, by the end of 2019. The companies are still to work out the operational and financial details surrounding the move, which is yet to be approved by shareholders and regulating agencies.

The Brazilian government may interrupt the cooperation as golden shares were preserved after the company became privately owned, in 1994.
